POSSESS A BEAUTIFUL HEART
MAIN TEXT: PSALM, 139:23 “Search me, O God, and know my heart, try me and know my thought.” Holy living is associated with a beautiful heart.
1 PETER 1:16 says : Be ye holy, for I am holy.”
David said that he was happy to go to the house of God for prayer. God on the other hand said that in David, HE found a man after his heart. Brethren, this relationship between David and God shows that God is also willing to partner with you if you live a holy life.
A beautiful heart enables us to manifest the fruits of the kingdom which include love, joy, peace, long-suffering, gentleness, goodness, faith, meekness, temperance as well as indulge in prayer and thanks-giving. By these acts, we retain a direct relationship with God who will favour us according to His wish in our lives.
For example, in Lk. 1:30, Virgin Mary became one among many holy and dedicated virgins during her time in Galilee whom God favoured to become the mother of Jesus Christ. Also in Lk. 2:25-27, there was a man with beautiful heart described as “just and devout” named Simeon whom God promised not to die until he had seen Jesus in the world. The God led him into the temple the very day and time Jesus was brought for dedication into the same temple. He took Jesus in his arms blessed him and thanked God for keeping his promise.
There was Anna, a prophetess and a widow of eighty-four years old who remained in that temple serving God with fasting and prayer, she also saw Jesus and blessed him too. Beloved, have a beautiful and dedicated heart, God’s promise awaits you and you will make eternity at the end.
