OPENING PRAYER
Heavenly Father, I have come today to worship and adore you. Have mercy upon me and give me a new beginning today in Jesus name.
BLESSED ARE THE MEEK
FIRST BIBLE MEDITATION
MATTHEW 5:5
Blessed are the meek, for they will inherit the earth.
Blessed are the meek : Matthew 5:5
The meek are those that are lowly and gentle in mind before God and men. The riches and good of the earth belong to the meek. Psalm 37:11, Numbers 12:3. The meek man is a wise man – James 3:13. Meekness is one virtue that should be seen in every Christian. We should not be high-spirited or violent.
Meekness models the humility of Christ- Philippians 2:6-8 – Who, being in very nature God, did not consider equality with God something to be used to his own advantage;
7 rather, he made himself nothing by taking the very nature of a servant, being made in human likeness. 8 And being found in appearance as a man, he humbled himself by becoming obedient to death— even death on a cross!.
It is the meek Christian that receives the word of God- James 1:21. It takes meekness to properly share the gospel of Jesus Christ for the salvation of mankind- 1 Peter 3:15.
This teaching of Jesus Christ centered on total humility. The humble Christian is a blessed Christian and he is qualified by grace for favour and eternal rewards.
WEEKLY WORK
1) Take up some days in the week and share this gospel of humility to others.
2) Begin a prayer schedule for those who are arrogant around you
PRAYERS
1) In Jesus name, Lord make me a practical instrument for your use.
2) Holy Spirit, release the grace of meekness upon me now in Jesus name
