THE WORTHY GARMENT
MAIN TEXT : REVELATION 3:5
He who overcomes will thus be clothed in white garments and I will not erase his name from the book of life and I will confess his name before my Father and before His angels.
Ecclesiastes 9:8 – Let your clothes be white all the time …
He that overcomes is the requirement for the glorious honour that God will give to His people. What is it that we must overcome? We must overcome sin and Satan through the blood and grace of Jesus Christ which is free for all that believe.
We must never look away from the cross of Jesus Christ because at the cross, it is finished. Our victory is in the cross of Christ. This is not to make us carry or wear a cross about and expect victory, No.
Our sincere submission and confession of Jesus Christ empowers us to live the Holy Life that overcomes. We must know our works cannot make us righteous but the blood of Jesus Christ does. The miracles of Jesus Christ could not even give man this victory and authority until He sacrificed His blood and life on the cross.
To remain clean is a choice too. A man with a white shirt is careful where he sits and the hands that touch him in other to be clean. We must value the purity of our spiritual garments so that we can keep the righteousness of Christ in us.
