ARE YOU AN ENTANGLED WARRIOR?

MAIN TEXT – 2 Timothy 2:3 – Thou therefore endure hardness , as a good soldier of Jesus Christ.

2Timothy 2:4 – No man that warreth entangleth himself with the affairs of this life; that he may please him who hath chosen him to be a soldier.

When a solider is leaving for war, he must bid his family good bye even if his wife is nursing their first baby. A war call sets the soldier immediately on duty to serve. All the pleasures of life must give way and he faces the war till the end of the battle. This is done to shun distractions, focus is a key tool for a soldier to remain a victor.

We are solders of the Lord of hosts, we must never entangle ourselves with the affairs that will distract us because we are in a fierce battle. We do not war against flesh and blood but against principalities and powers of the satanic wicked kingdom. Distractions and carelessness can bring death and defeat no matter how sophisticated your war weapons might be.

Entanglement could be a wrong companionship that you want to please and displease God, a job opportunity; ambitions that do not fall into God’s plan for us, sometimes our family might be a distraction in serving God the way we ought to.

Wisdom remains the principal thing, the application of wisdom keeps us on the position of advantage. There is time for everything as the Bible says. To be a winner always, shun distractions and you will never regret that you did.
