RESIST TO SIN
MAIN TEXT: Psalm 119:11 – Thy word have I hid in mine heart, that I might not sin against thee
Psalm 39:1 – I said, I will take heed to my ways, that I sin not with my tongue: I will keep mouth with bridle while the wicked is before me.
The study for today is an instruction to live a righteous life, the life that will please God. There is nothing that hurts God for a redeemed man who is still living in sin. The God we serve is a holy God and he desires that our hearts and life will be pure without stains of sin.
To resist sin is not done by our human abilities, nor by might, rather it can be achieved by the Spirit of God living in us and guiding us. The obedient servant of God, who listens to the Holy Spirit, receives the power over sin. It is the work of the Holy Spirit to keep and prepare us till the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ.
It is also our duty to always recognize the authority and presence of the Holy Spirit in our lives to be able to withstand all forms of satanic tricks.
Sin is a big reproach, it does not only hinder us but it also hinders God from reaching to us. To live as a sinner is great loss and curse.
HOLINESS IS THE DOOR TO EVERLASTING PEACE AND JOY.
Prayer: Holy Spirit, I need you every moment in my life to resist sin and to live a holy life all the days of my life.
