THE POWER OF THE TONGUE 5

HOW TO SPEAK

DON’T BE SILENT OVER SENSITIVE ISSUES, SPEAK UP: John 11:4 ‘But when Jesus heard it, he said, This sickness is not unto death, but for the glory of God, that the Son of God may be glorified thereby.’
Jesus Christ showed us the best way to respond to negative news. When he heard the condition of his beloved friend, Lazarus. He did not keep calm and swallow the negative information. He answered immediately that the sickness will not kill him. Did he die actually? Yes, but Jesus was speaking that God will be glorified in the matter and the friend will live again. There are those times that Christians, say God understands. But in the real sense, it was not in God’s program that they should suffer. Do not except the pains with the cover up that God understands. Stand against it with God’s word. When the devil speaks, react with the word of God.

DON’T SPEAK LIKE WHAT YOU HAVE BEEN THROUGH- Daniel 3:16 ‘Shadrach, Meshach, and Abed-nego answered and said to the king, O Nebuchadnezzar, we have no need to answer thee in this matter.’
The three Hebrew boys were captives in Babylon but they refused to allow their minds to accept the bondage. They knew that fire cannot consume fire. The fire of Nebuchadnezzar could not harm them.  The wilderness experiences of life should not affect our minds because if our minds are affected, it will definitely corrupt our tongues.

CALL YOUR BLESSINGS AND GIVE THEM NAMESDuring the creation in Genesis 1, God said, let there be light. At the appearance of those things, He would call them and give them names. For instance, ‘And God said, Let there be light: and there was light. And God saw the light, that it was good: and God divided the light from the darkness. And God called the light Day, and the darkness he called Night. And there was evening and there was morning, one day.’  This is because what you name is under your authority and you take possession. In this same way, after the creation of things and animals, God gave Adam the authority over them all but He knew that Adam should give them names to be able to exercise dominion over them.

Romans 4:17 – ‘(as it is written, A father of many nations have I made thee) before him whom he believed, even God, who giveth life to the dead, and calleth the things that are not, as though they were.’
