THE HOLY SPIRIT INDWELLING IN THE BELIEVER

Introduction: The indwelling of the Holy Spirit is the mechanism whereby the Christian’s salvation is accomplished. It is the Holy Spirit who brings conviction to the unbeliever and causes him to see the truth of the gospel in a clear light.

Those who respond to this conviction and place their faith in Jesus Christ receive eternal life and a new nature.

HOW DO YOU KNOW YOU ARE FILLED WITH THE HOLY SPIRIT?

1. The real evidence is the spiritual fruit, produced in our lives, and not only speaking in tongues

a. Our speech- this reflects our heart. we won’t be engaging in gossip and evil speaking

b. Our singing –there is always a song, in our heart

c. Our thankfulness- we are able to appreciate God, in all circumstances, for who he is.

d. Our submission- when we are filled with the Spirit, it shows in the way we treat others

Conclusion: In summary, the Holy Spirit empowers the believer to do the impossible. Are you Spirit filled?
