STORMS DON’T DROWN GOD’S OWN

MAIN TEXT: MATTHEW 8:24 “Suddenly a furious storm came up on the lake, so that the waves swept over the boat. But Jesus was sleeping”.

1JOHN 5:4 – “For every child of God defeats this evil world, and we achieve this victory through our faith.”

The attitude of Jesus Christ in the face of a furious storm is great lesson for us to learn and live by it. Jesus Christ was sleeping; he went to bed when the enemy came striking the boat of His comfort. When His disciples insisted on waking Him, He arose because of them.

Jesus Christ knew that the enemy cannot hurt Him and the storm cannot capsize His boat. Sometimes the enemies seek for attention, when the devil gets your attention then he can distract or torment you. Jesus Christ rose up and spoke to the wind and the sea, the storm vanished. His attitude was an exercise of dominion.

Beloved, the storm that is blowing against you, doesn’t have the ability to destroy you. Stop paying unnecessary attention to it. Take a break of rest if you can, because you have wrestled a long while. A song writer composed a song about having peace in the midst of storms and he put it in this form, “Peace when trouble blows,
Jehovah sees, Jehovah knows;
He is my peace, when sorrow nears,
Jehovah sees, Jehovah hears.” Speak against the storms and rest in your Father’s arms, then God will honor your spoken words of prayer.

THE STORM YOU SEE, ALSO SEES YOUR REACTIONS TO IT. REBUKE IT AND MOVE WITH YOUR LIFE

PRAYER: In Jesus’ name, I rebuke the furious storms attacking my life and I will not lose my peace. I’m the winner
