THE SHEPHERD OF MY SOUL

MAIN TEXT: PSALM 23:1- The Lord is my shepherd; I shall not want.

Psalm 23:3 – He restoreth my soul: he leadeth me in the paths of righteousness for his name’s sake.

God addresses your need for rest and nourishment. As your shepherd, He skillfully seeks out proper pastures for you to graze. Our shepherd insists on rest and proper nourishment. Man shall not live by bread alone but by every word that proceeds from the mouth of God. Jesus Christ is the bread of life coming down from the heaven to give life to men.

As the good shepherd, He takes us through different paths; smooth and rocky areas of life. There are moments in our lives that we face terrible issues that appear that God has left us, but we are quick to forget that we have a guide – who is the shepherd of our soul. Everything that we trouble ourselves with, are His business to sort out as we simply follow Him as the good sheep.

Although David was a great leader himself, he acknowledged he needed guidance from the Lord. God will not force Himself upon us, but He will eagerly guide us if we welcome Him, as did David, as our “Shepherd”.

A SHEPHERD AND HIS SHEEP CAN’T WORK TOGETHER EXCEPT THERE’S ABSOLUTE SUBMISSION TO THE SHEPHERD’S WILL.

PRAYER: Lord Jesus Christ, deal with my heart issues so that I will always live in total submission to your will and purpose.
