THE PURE HEART
MAIN TEXT: Matthew 5:8 ‘’ Blessed are the pure in heart for they shall see God.’’
Ephesians 4:31 – Get rid of all bitterness, rage and anger, brawling and slander, along with every form of malice.’’
A pure heart is one that bears or thinks no evil against another. It bears no grudges or fears; entertains no bitterness towards others. Purity is a condition of a heart that harbors no ill-feeling or thought and utters no vile speaking against God or man. A pure heart is where God dwells. He said, ‘’my son, give me your heart.’’ What does God want to do with your heart? To live within you.
To cause you to be alive in the spirit so that He can use you. It is only in your state of holiness that you can produce good results which glorify the Lord.
When you are pure, you attract God’s personality into your life. The Holy Spirit is asking us today to be pure in heart. We are a people set apart for His praise. It is not a difficult state to be in. This is where the Holy Spirit comes in. He is our helper and guide. Let Christ into your life today. The carnal mind cannot be holy. We are made righteous through Christ and not on our own. So, it is in Christ that we can receive the ability to maintain purity.
We cannot have a pure heart by merely wishing it, it is achieved through consciously regulating the contents of what we allow into us. When you want a pure heart, don’t retain grudges, malice, and hatred. Maintaining a pure heart calls for having the fear of God. The fear of God will keep you in line of godly thoughts.
YOUR HEART IS THE THRONE ROOM OF THE HOLY GHOST, KEEP IT PURE
Prayer: Dear Lord, as my heart is your swelling place, give me your Spirit of Holiness in Jesus’ name Amen
